Wedding skincare with Ivy Clinic

We sit down with Ebony from Ivy Clinic, our incredible local skin experts

Tell us a little about Ivy Clinic offerings and the journey to where you are today.

In 2016 I met my business partner Kaylie whilst working together at another cosmetic clinic. I have always been an advocate for the benefits of subtle, preventative injectibles, while Kaylie was researching the transformative and confidence boosting power of appearance medicine. Over a glass of wine or cuppa at night we talked about what we felt was missing in New Zealand’s appearance medicine landscape and started to develop the Ivy Clinic brand.

In 2018 we launched Queenstown Ivy Clinic - a fresh contemporary appearance medicine clinic delivering advanced, well researched treatment in a low-key luxe environment. Offering world class service in smaller New Zealand cities, for real Kiwis. The kind of place we would go ourselves. Ivy Clinic Queenstown has been going so well, we ended up opening Ivy Clinic Invercargill in July 2023.

With a collective 70+ years in the industry, the Ivy Clinic team has experienced and tested plenty of machines, treatments, and product ranges. We’ve handpicked only those we believe are safe, worth it, and have actually been shown to get results. To take the best possible care of our customers, all our Cosmetic Registered Nurses and therapists are well qualified, highly trained and get ongoing support and mentoring.

Our treatment menu consists of:

  • Botox/Dysport

  • Dermal filler

  • Skin boosters (Profilo + Restylane)

  • IPL

  • Dermapen

  • Cosmelan

  • Acid peels, facials, LED, hydrodermabrasian

  • Waxing + tinting

When do you suggest beginning professional skincare prior to your wedding day, and what does this schedule look like?

ASAP! Whether its six months or six weeks out, its a good time to start focusing on your skin routine prior to your big day. The key is to have a skin expert assess your face to ensure you have the right products and treatments for your skin type to avoid any reactions close to your wedding - nobody wants a rashy face as they walk down the aisle.

Another very important component is consistency - at Ivy Clinic we have created a range of skincare treatment packages that are tailored to your individual skin concerns and type. These packages ensure you are consistent with regular skin treatments every 2-6 weeks (depending on the treatment and the downtime required between each one) over several months.

Your number one beauty tip for flawless wedding skin?

Book in for a High Wattage Skin treatment one week prior to the wedding - Brightening Accelerator Mask (BAM) + Hydrobrasian + LED. Perfect for you if you are serious about brightening up your skin for your big day. Bumping up the benefits of BAM, you’ll receive a super-hydrating hydrobrasian pre-mask, followed by Lightstim LED therapy for brilliant, high wattage skin. This instantly amazing treatment will get you photo ready pre wedding.

What does a typical Saturday morning look like for you?

My Saturday mornings have changed significantly of late as I have welcomed the arrival of my first baby girl, Rio. So now Saturday mornings are dictated by her, followed by a coffee and some form of home renovation channel on youtube, before front packing Rio around the house and yard as we start tackling our own home reno! And of course, cleansing my face with the Ultimate Brightening Foaming Cleanser followed by the Ultimate Brightening Serum and SPF 50 Hydrating moisturiser to hydrate and protect my skin from the daily elements.

Whats next for Ivy Clinic?

We will continue to research and develop our services and products to make sure what we are offering is the most up to date and effective as well as grow and develop our brand new Invercargill Clinic. Possibly a third clinic down the track! Our main focus, and always will be, is delivering an amazing and honest service to our clients in our funky, down to earth environment.

Thank you to Ebony from Ivy Clinic, your local skin experts. An incredible range of products available in store too.
